Waiting on the Lord

Thought I'd share this article by one of my all time favorite Bible teachers, Dr. John Wright Follette. Waiting on the Lord by John Wright Follette "They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength" (Is. 40:31 esv). To wait upon God is entirely within the reach of all, whatever may be the age, condition, or environment. All may not be able to preach, teach, go as missionaries, or enter into public service; but any Christian can wait upon the Lord. Silence The Bible tells us much about waiting upon the Lord. The first meaning of the expression is silence. Prayer has been made and now the soul is hushed and, bowing in silence (in faith), it waits before God. Our souls are too noisy. In prayer life alone see how it hinders. Our hearts are much distressed and burdened, so we go to prayer and maybe spend much time pouring out our petitions before the throne. Abundant Life

Listening to "Abundant Life" by Alan Redpath.   We all need the abundant life that Jesus offers.  We all need to take further steps to surrender fully to our Lord.  What is the direction of your life and how are we directing others to the abundance of life and the centrality of Jesus in their life? “It isn’t decision that decides your destiny, its direction, and what has happened following that decision?  Has your life been directed and turned around to started on a new course or hasn’t it? For if it hasn’t been that decision is not valid in the New Testament sense of the Word.  Has your profession of faith been followed by a life that is being transformed until day by day its less like yourself and more like our wonderful Lord?”
