By Many or By Few

Sam 14:6-8 - Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, “Come, let’s go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised men. Perhaps the LORD will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few. Do all that you have in mind,” his armor-bearer said. “Go ahead; I am with you heart and soul.”

This morning we read about Jonathan and his armor bearer taking the Philistine garrison. I love this story. In the midst of fear and doubt, Jonathan trusts in the Lord. Far too often we run and hide in holes and caves like the army of Israel. Wholeheartedly following Jesus Christ is not for the weak of heart. God is looking for insane people who will dare to trust Him. Like Graham Cooke says on the battlefield we see a different side of God that few see. I love that Jonathan says "Nothing can hinder the Lord..." We need to remind ourselves of that everyday. That should be our standard response when self shouts that we can't do it, its impossible, or God will never show up if we step out in this or that.

Everyday I will dream big of the things God has in store for me. I will say "I will run after the Lord today and He will act on my behalf for nothing will hinder Him aand He will save me by many or by few". The situation does no matter, the money and resource does not matter, people telling you your crazy does not matter. Common sense if the worst possible thing for a believer. We do not walk by what makes sense, we walk in faith, power, and the authority of our God. He is able. Blessed be His holy and wonderous name!
