Remembering MLK

Today we remember one of the great men of history. Martin Luther King Jr. gave himself fully to serve the cause of justice and dignity for all humanity. He was a champion not just for African Americans, but for anyone suffering from oppression and inequality. This is such a simple and profound quote. And this is still the answer for the turmoil, division, and injustice our world faces today. Jesus said "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the Prophets." (Mat. 7:12). We all need this same audacity and belief alive in our spirits and in our deeds.

Quote from Martin Luther King Jr. from Letter from Birmingham, Alabama Jail, April 16, 1963.

"I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits."
