I shall not pass this way again

Lately I've been thinking about how valuable the smallest act of kindness or time spent with someone can be. Especially when its time spent with family and friends. I'm trying to be much more aware of those moments now. Develop the habit of doing as much as you can for others rather than as little as you can. Be observant and watch what they do and then do what you can to help.

My wife has always liked the bed made a certain way with the decretive pillows arranged just so. I really never cared about decorative pillows before and I still don't to be honest, but I do care a great deal about my wife. I would make the bed and just throw the pillows on there any old way. Then later I'd find she had re-arranged them the right way. How careless I was to miss all those opportunities to serve my wife and do that one small act of kindness for her. I started paying attention to how she would arrange them and then I made sure I did it the right way.

I came acrost this wonderful poem today which I hope you will take to heart. I know I will!

"I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer not neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
