Mind Shift - Introduction

I started a new book - Mind Shift by Erwin McManus. Excited about this one. Excited about the timing for my own personal mental health. We don't often realize how God orchestrates events in our life, or I should say how the Holy Spirit leads us is specific ways at specific times. When we take time to look back and remember what we've been praying for and discussing with the Lord, we can put two and two together.

McManus says the premise of the book is the idea that "If my mind can be structured for failure, then it can also be structured for success."

Is that what the apostle Paul tells us in Romans 12:2 when he implores us to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds? Of course. We have been set free in Christ with the ability to overcome a mindset of failure and succeed. Without Christ, we are lost in the self-controlled mindset of failure that leads to destruction. Can we call that sin nature? Of course. Thats why God sent his Son to rescue us and make a way for us to live and flourish as he intends.
