Miracles in Mark 6

The text in Mark 6: 30-56 contains some incredible miracles. First Jesus feeds the five thousand. He then sends his disciples on ahead and later walks on the water across the sea. When they reach Gennesaret on the other side, many from the surrounding area came to Jesus and were healed just by touching the fringe of his garment.

Can we expect similar miracles today? John 14:12 records that Jesus said. "Whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father." Sounds like we can and should expect to experience miracles if we believe.

I don't know why we don't. Maybe some believers around the world are seeing such miracles. I think the belief of many followers of Christ is real and sincere. I don't think belief is something to be measured so it's not those that believe more who see the miracles. Maybe the key is the application of belief. Am I able to apply belief to situations in my life that require the miraculous? Have I grown too dependent on other things? Have many in the church grown to be rich and in need of nothing?

I know my heart still believes. I know I still long to know him and follow him and do these greater works.
