Leave Your Father's House

Image
Kristen and I are still waiting to see what God will do with our house situation. We have been obedient to take every step He has asked of us that I am aware of. We are hoping our home will sell this spring and God will lead us to the house He has for us. I love how the Lord has guided our steps and protected us from ourselves. It is easy to get caught up with wanting a newer, bigger, and nicer home, but it is also nice to know God gives us wisdom. We saw a very nice house with a good price today, but when we looked at it on the internet, there was a sale pending. I am convinced God will not let us have anything less that what He wants for us and I love Him for that. I am anxious (in a good way) to move and move forward. I want to run after the things God has in store for my life and our family. I want to teach my children that their God is a good God who cares for them and is worthy of all their trust and hopes and dreams. I joke with people that I am literally in the process

Confidence in Christ

God has been faithful again to give me a new word for this next year. Last year He spoke to me that I must be relentless in my pursuit of Him. As I end this year of relentlessly pursuing Him, I have discovered that it is Jesus who has been relentlessly pursuing me to pour out all the abundance of who He is into my life. I love him for that and a million other reasons. We will establish the gifts and revelation God gives us as we walk in obedience to them. Now my new journey for this coming year is "Confidence in Christ". I am overwhelmed by the goodness and graciousness of God towards all who say yes to Him. Graham Cooke says people may perceive you as being a little arrogant at times when your a warrior. Many do not walk in or understand confidence in Christ, but I will discover it this year. I know the Holy Spirit is excited and can't wait to take me there, and I can't wait to go with Him. I've been reading II Samuel and I love how King David becomes mor

Thank You Bush Administration

Thank you Mr. President for keeping America safe and putting this country first above political agendas. All we hear now is about the failed Bush administration and how Mr. Obama will inherit a mess, but I'm sure that can't be further from the truth. This new administration wants to change America's image around the world, but we need to start at home. Stop talking about America, the greatest country on Earth, like its a failed Republican experiment, and recognize that America has a responsibility to let the light of freedom shine. Don't lower the ideals of America down to a globally accepted level. Lets raise American values high and be proud of what the Lord has blessed us with in this nation. Take a look a this interview with Condi Rice "Condi on the Record "

Missional Disciples

I like what Alan Hirsch said in "Missional Misgivings" today in Out of Ur . We are failing at producing real, in love with Jesus, Christ followers. I am increasingly concerned about how easily we trade one religious model for another. We have steped away from seeker frienldy only to become super seeker friendly. Admiration of Jesus is good, but it must give way to devotion. The Christian life is not about churchs and programs and methedology or even about the people we may reach - its about Jesus. "Genuine fruitfulness, surely, cannot simply be measured by numbers but by 'making disciples.' How does one measure that? By all accounts, current churches are made up largely of admirers of Jesus but few genuine disciples/followers—this is not a biblical idea of fruitfulness!" - Alan Hisch
