A New Day

Image
I can feel a new day coming. In the midst of discouragement, in the midst of pain, Jesus still is. There is no name greater than His name, there is no higher honor in the universe than to bow before Him. He has graciously given us the opportunity to give our life away faithfully to Him without any applause or recognition. In the silence of the cross we lay down our self, desires, hopes, and dreams there at His feet. There is no one watching, no one cheering, just the hush before death comes to claim the sacrifice. Jesus is there, He is waiting for you to come, for all to come and join Him as He falls into the ground to die. He knows there is a new day coming. He does not want us to miss it, He is bearing all the shame, all the immense pain so that we are able to come and join His fate. There is nowhere I would rather be than with Jesus even if it means standing with Him as the whole world turns against Him. I feel there is a new day coming. The "Scarcity" of Truth

Image
I read an article this morning from BigThink called "Our Future of Abundance" . I wanted to share a couple excerpt from the article since I thought some of the ideas expressed were very interesting when thought of in the context of the body of Christ today. Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler are the authors of the book, Abundance: Why the Future Will Be Much Better Than You Think . When discussing the accelerating rate of technological change, they state that "few resources are truly scarce; they're mainly inaccessible.” Think about this in the light of God’s infinite and limitless Word. Why is there a scarcity of understanding of this valuable resource in the lives of so many people? I believe one reason is because we've created an environment of scarcity. Diamandis and Kotler elaborate on this idea here and mention how “Scarcity is contextual” . "History's littered with tales of once rare resources made plentiful by innovation. The reason is

Consecration

Image
Maybe this is just for me, but I'll phrase it in the context of the body of Christ since I'm sure this will resonate with others. I've felt that we desperately need to consecrate ourselves again before the Lord. We get so busy with life and family, work, church, ministry, and everything else and we allow God to take a back seat. We allow sin to creep into our life and take root. We allow bitterness, frustrations, and feelings of hopelessness to overwhelm us day in and day out. I know there are many believers who feel as if life is closing in on them and they feel far from God. Church won't fill that void. Being involved in ministry or other religious activities won't get us back on track. We need to acknowledge Jesus as the center of our lives. Each one of us needs to personally get alone with God and once again consecrate ourselves to Him. Ask forgiveness for the sins in your heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to examine your mind and life at every level and help you
